A huge Perspex® acrylic cloche manufactured by Project Plastics sits atop the entrance to the famous Claridge’s Hotel in central London this Christmas hinting at the wider artistic collaboration at the hotel.
Working with their customer, Propability, Project Platics were tasked with creating the 2900mm tall Perspex® Clear Acrylic Cloche. The acrylic dome specialists were required to produce an 1800mm diameter dome manufactured from 10mm Perspex® clear cast. 8mm drape formed clear Perspex® acrylic was curved to form the tall sides of the Cloche.
The Clothe was decorated and installed by the team at Propability with a design replicated throughout the Mayfair hotel via their collaboration alongside artist Sam Wood.
100 of Sam Wood’s hand-painted cloches, with delicate decoupage scenes of Claridge’s art deco arches tucked inside, can be found dotted throughout the hotel this Christmas. Each signed by Sam and available for guests to purchase. The decorated on pattern on the Perspex® acrylic cloche outside the hotel replicates one of Sam Wood’s designs.
