When bespoke Perspex® acrylic specialists Inplas Fabrications opened their doors over 20 years ago, their first project was for designer Jonathan Green. Who knew at the time that this relationship would be still be going strong as they celebrate their latest collaboration - The Gin Trolley.
This luxurious furniture was the brainchild of Jonathan Green of Quench Home Bars and to the unique piece of furniture brings together high gloss laminated birch ply with diamond polished Perspex® acrylic to create a beautiful statement piece.
The 10mm Perspex® acrylic was diamond polished in-house by Inplas before invisible UV-bonded joints were used to complement its sharp modern look. 18mm laminated birth ply gives the product a feeling of solidity juxtaposed against the clear Perspex® acrylic.
Jonathan Green specialises in designing beautiful cocktail bars to celebrate the art of mixology and explains “I love working with both natural and modern materials and seeing how these elements can come together.”
No aspect of the design has been left to chance – bottles are distributed in and around the trolley to avoid the appearance of clutter. A drawer unit allows for storage of glassware and cocktail making tools. And with over 80% of gin drinkers taking their favourite tipple with tonic, a ventilated cabinet houses a mini fridge to keep a selection of tonics perfectly chilled. The wooden casters even match the trolley design.
