Inplas Fabrications were selected to undertake the design, fabrication and installation of bespoke display cases for over 30 artworks in Grayson Perry's "A Temple for Everyone" latest exhibition.
Due to their expertise in working with Perspex® acrylic and their proven track record in creating high-quality display solutions, Inplas are the go-to fabricator for high end museum displays.
Using 6mm Perspex® clear cast acrylic, these bespoke clear display cases were created for the multiple works by the famous English artist. Each case was CNC routed and diamond polished to create crisp uniform edges. The cases were then UV bonded to deliver water clear joints before being installed at the museum.
Perspex® acrylic displays need to be fabricated to critical criteria to meet the needs of the end user and museum visitors, including:
- Provide robust protection for a variety of artwork sizes and mediums.
- Offer exceptional clarity to ensure unhindered viewing.
- Maintain a visually seamless appearance, minimizing any distraction from the artwork itself.
Grayson Perry's "A Temple for Everyone" exhibition, is being held at the Charleston Museum, and explores the concept of "home" through a diverse range of artistic mediums, including tapestries, ceramic pots, drawings, etchings, ceramic tiles, and woodcuts. The exhibition, running until March 2nd, 2025, aims to delve into the stories that shape individual identities and perceptions of home.
The Charleston Museum required high-quality, visually unobtrusive display cases to protect and showcase Perry's delicate and intricate artworks, while maintaining a clear and uninterrupted view for visitors.
