Hull based sign maker Greens the Signmakers Ltd celebrated 60 years in business this month. Since setting up 60 years ago, the family run business has grown to become one of the most recognised names in UK signage.
MD Lawrence Green is the third generation of the family to lead the business which was set up by his grandfather, Reg Green, in 1963. Greens the Signmakers pride itself on maintaining this family tradition and remaining strong to its original values, while still remaining at the forefront of the signage industry.
Greens proudly carry out the vast majority of work in-house, enabling total control by their experienced team delivering on time and value for money projects to their customers.
Working with some of the largest retailers on the high street, Greens have been using materials supplied by PDL to produce illuminated fret cut facia’s and built up letters illuminating Perspex® Acrylic.
Investment in recent years has focussed on the company’s push to offer greener solutions to their end users. After taking over in 2018, Lawrence Green’s first focus was to refurbish their print room and extend the company’s wide-format offering including investing in an HP R2000 capable of printing water based ink. These can be used to print on materials purchased from PDL including Alupanel Aluminium Composite and Palight PVC Foam.
In addition to this, subsequent investment in solar energy has resulted in the installation of 208 large solar panels on the roof of their 26,000sq ft factory being capable drawing enough energy to not only power their factory but also give energy back to the grid over the weekend.
