A new piece of artwork by Banksy, 'Valentine's Day mascara', appeared on the side of building in Margate in February. Approved fabricator Abplas was approached by an art gallery that had purchased the artwork and needed a solution to protect it in-situ while they figured out how to remove it.
The artwork needed protection from the elements and potential damage, as it was situated in a public area with a high footfall.
Abplas quickly fabricated a five-sided Perspex® acrylic shallow tray to protect the artwork. The team travelled to Margate to install the tray and ensure that the artwork was weatherproof. Despite the short notice, Abplas delivered a high-quality solution that met the gallery's requirements.
The Perspex tray provided the necessary protection for Banksy's artwork, keeping it safe from the elements and potential damage. The Abplas team received quite an audience while installing the tray!
The successful installation by Abplas demonstrated their ability to provide custom solutions at short notice and their commitment to delivering high-quality work.
