London based approved fabricators, Abplas, spent the run up to Valentine’s Day 2019 completing a window display at a prominent store on London’s Oxford Street.
Working with the client, their original brief to create a box frame with hanging hearts was enhanced by the Abplas team to make the display 3D whilst ensuring it was equally as show stopping from outside and inside the store.
Abplas suggested using acrylic tubes instead of a box frame to make the hearts appear as if they were invisibly suspended in mid-air. The small hearts would be radiating from the main heart centre-piece.
Red Perspex® 440 was chosen as the ideal red shade for the valentine hearts which were fabricated with precision by the Abplas team. The small hearts were laser cut whilst large central heart was CNC cut and polished to give the illusion of being a chocolate box.
Opal Perspex® acrylic was teamed with our range of 2835 S-Led flexible strip LEDs providing an illuminated slogan which again was visible from both side of the display. S-LED strips can be curved around tight corners and right angles without the need to connect or solder strips.
The final challenge for the team was to be able to flatpack the display to fit through a narrow doorway before being assembled in the window.
