From a subculture to an Olympic sport, a new exhibition at the London Design Museum celebrates the 70 year journey of skateboarding.
With the help of 26 Perspex® Clear Cast Display cases, fabricated by Inplas Fabrications, the exhibition follows the development of the sport through the decades.
With over 100 rare objects on display including Tony Hawk’s first skateboard model, the display cases form a vital aesthetic to the story. Fabricated in 12mm Perspex® clear cast, each was CNC routed and then diamond polished to create crisp uniform edges. The cases were then UV bonded to deliver water clear joints.
Opening to rave reviews, the exhibition runs from 20th October 2023 – 2nd June 2024 and is a must for fans of the sport – not least with the exhibition also featuring a skateable mini ramp.
