Perspex Distribution (PDL) have completed the installation of 3 new Schelling FK6 330 industrial beam saws following substantial investment upgrading cutting capabilities across their UK branches.
The leading thermoplastics distributor, specialising in a next day cut to size service, spent much of 2020 supplying substrates to UK fabrication businesses manufacturing Covid-19 protective goods including critical worker sneeze screens, medical centre partitioning, medical equipment and hand sanitisation units.
The advanced Schelling saws are optimised to work with PDLs unique UK manufactured substrate range including Perspex® Cast Acrylic, Alupanel Aluminuium Composite, Palsun Polycarbonate and Palight PVC Foam.
With a total of 10 industrial beam saws spread across PDLs network of 5 UK branches, this new hardware upgrades older machines and maintains their industry leading cutting and distribution service.
“Our long relationship with Schelling UK has supported our ability to process record volumes of materials this year with our dedicated teams ensuring supply to our customer base, many of whom have been providing an invaluable manufacturing service in the effort to protect keyworkers and the general public this year,” said Keith Piggott, PDL Managing Director.
“This significant investment in the latest industrial machinery across our group maintains an optimum service to our customers. Our portfolio of 10 industrial saws, across all 5 PDL branches, means we can allocate a huge 240 hours’ worth of substrate cutting each day.”
All machinery was safely installed over a 3 month period by engineers from Schelling UK at PDL branches in Blackburn, Chelmsford and Tamworth.
Markus Freuis, Schelling UK added, “We have enjoyed a long relationship with PDL and our newly installed FK6 330 saws will ensure they continue to produce a fast precision cut, industry leading saw finish and improved processing times – all maximising quality of finish for their customers.”
